What If I Have To Change My Start Time Or Wedding Date?
While I work hard to be as flexible as possible in accommodating changes, I cannot guarantee availability for a date or time change. I do have a team of qualified ministers to help accommodate changes.
Please let me know as soon as possible if you plan to change your wedding date or time so I can try to find a solution for you.

Your wedding day is a day that will be remembered and celebrated for the rest of your life. Some couples rely on an uncle, a friend, or an extended relative to officiate their special day.
Unfortunately, what often unfolds with a wedding officiant lacking experience is an unorganized ceremony, jokes/moments that make many guests feel uncomfortable, and on and on!
If you will spend money on professional services for the rest of your wedding experience, make sure that the actual ceremony is professional as well!

Will you attend the Rehearsal?
This depends mostly on your preference and our schedule availability. If there are no schedule conflicts (other weddings, travel, church services, etc.) we would love to be part of this experience if applicable.
There is an additional $125 for the wedding rehearsal (plus any mileage that would apply).
Our team is highly experienced, comfortable, and confident to perform your wedding with excellence. We work with the best wedding coordinators and know our role and your wedding preferences well before the big day. We will walk you through the same thing we would at a rehearsal when we have our scheduled call or in-person meeting.
Our main hope is always to ensure the best experiences for our brides and grooms by helping them feel comfortable, and confident, for their big moment in front of family and friends.
For couples who choose the “Happily Ever After” package, you will have access to the resource site with a virtual rehearsal walk-through of the ceremony.
Do You Charge Separate Travel Fees?
If the venue or event is outside a 35-mile radius of the Houston Heights area, an additional mileage flat fee will be added. The mileage fee helps cover additional costs for time (round trip), fuel, tolls, and other vehicle-related expenses.
Between a 20-34 mile radius - $35.
Between a 35-49 mile radius - $65.
Between a 50-74 mile radius - $95.
Between 75-100 miles - $125.
**Over 125+ miles will be based on the current standard mileage reimbursement rate.
“Texas” wedding mileage package - $450
For weddings from Houston to Austin/San Antonio/DFW areas.
Includes the cost of fuel, travel time, and overnight accommodations.
Will Travel to officiate “destination weddings”?
YES!!!
For destination weddings, reasonable costs to cover overnight accommodations and other travel expenses (flight, food, rentals, etc) will be calculated and quoted.
How Long Do Your Ceremonies Usually Last?
The length of the ceremony usually depends on the preference of the couple, and how many elements you want included (unity candles, personal vows, family prayer, etc.).
The standard ceremony, aka “Tying the Knot”, is about 12-15 minutes (total time)
The customized ceremony, aka “Happily Ever After”, is designed to fit your personal preferences and can be any length of time - usually around 20-25 minutes.
Every ceremony fits in the 30 minutes usually budgeted for modern-day wedding ceremonies.
What Is Your Presentation Style? Traditional Or Modern?
I like to think my style is that of a storyteller.
I strive to be as personal, adaptable, and professional as I can be with each ceremony.
To go a little further, this also depends on the package chosen, the couple’s personality, and specific preferences for the wedding day.
In the ceremony, I speak about traditional relationship principles (designed to help you craft, cultivate, and strengthen a healthy and happy marriage) presented with a modern, engaging approach. Your friends and family won’t be bored!
The personalized ceremony affords me the flexibility to really integrate the couple’s personality, bring out moments of humor/lightheartedness that reflect the couple’s experiences, celebrate times the couple has triumphed in ways the couple has overcome obstacles, and lean into the milestone and special moments that make each couple’s journey unique!
How Much Input Can I Have Regarding The Content Of The Ceremony?
I feel my primary role on your wedding day is to represent you well, so I love learning if there are any preferences a couple has regarding the ceremony.
The “Tying the Knot” package is not a customizable script though the more personalized packages may be.
While the main content of the presentation (principles of marriage) remains constant; if there are any quotes, readings, elements (unity candle, communion, etc.), personal vows, or the like you would like to incorporate, then I’d be more than happy to work with you on what that could look like.
This includes the amount of religious content.
I am a Christian minister, and believe marriage is first and foremost God’s idea and invention, and I am always available to work with my couples to determine how much religious content they prefer to have included, or not.
Will You Help Us Send In Our Marriage License?
We will sign your marriage license after the ceremony concludes. If you prefer us to mail in your marriage license on your behalf while you enjoy some R&R on your honeymoon that service can be arranged.
Most counties will provide a standard-size (4 1/8" by 9 1/2") mailing envelope to return your license. If not, we will also use a similar standard-size envelope to return your license.
If you prefer your license to not be folded to fit into one of these envelopes. Please provide your preferred alternative envelope with postage for us to use to mail your license.
What Will You Wear?
My default attire is a tailored solid black suit, and a white collar dress shirt with a solid black tie. I also have a classic navy suit for couples who prefer that look.
We always make sure to dress with excellence and ensure you are represented well.
What If I Have A More Casual Vibe?
If you desire a more casual look that can easily be accommodated at no additional fee. Whatever your style, I will work to ensure my wardrobe and presentation reflect the atmosphere of your wedding.
What Happens In Case Of An Emergency, or if a conflicting event comes up, that no longer allows you to be available for our ceremony?
In the unfortunate case of an emergency or an unexpected/unforeseen conflicting church event, I have a team of experienced ministers who are highly capable of performing your ceremony with confidence, excellence, and grace.
You would be informed of the circumstances and ensured a quality service. In the event you would prefer to find another officiant, you would receive a full refund.
